Catastrophe Modelling Manager - Rokstone

Role Summary

Rokstone Underwriting is a leading specialist MGA serving the needs of international (re)insurance brokers in speciality lines business. Our brokers have direct access to decision makers who provide fast decisions and flexible solutions. As the Catastrophe Modelling Manager you will be responsible for portfolio analytics for International business across multiple lines (predominantly D&F Property) as well as catastrophe exposures. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to lead and build out the function.

Role Responsibilities

  • Data analysis and data cleansing of AIR model input (data cleansing will eventually be outsourced)

  • Liaison with the chosen third party data cleansing team

  • Analysis and interpretation of AIR model outputs

  • Working with CUO/ Lead UWs/ MI team to produce UW / CAT reporting using Sequel Impact / AIR output

  • Key member of the Group CAT management committee and input into Group CAT plans

  • Business owner of Sequel Impact and AIR – work with IT to ensure that the business get max benefit from the systems

  • Provide advice to UW’s re CAT exposures / aggregations across the UW portfolios

  • Work closely with Mulberry to ensure CAT input into Actuarial output

  • CAT lead at Group Underwriting committee

  • Line management and development for the aggregate management team on the sequel impact platform

  • Training the aggregate team on AIR as well and employing others as the team grows

Role Requirements

  • Proven and relevant experience in catastrophe risk analytics.

  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to manage expectations.

  • Present your own work in person, with confidence.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of AIR.

  • Good knowledge of MS SQL required.

  • Good work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Keen and can do attitude.

  • Attention to detail is a requisite of the role.
