Compliance Monitoring Assistant
Our ambition is to be the best insurance business in the world and due to our continued growth and investment we are recruiting 2 Compliance Monitoring Assistant to join our growing compliance team.
The Compliance Monitoring Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Compliance Team in ensuring Consilium Insurance Brokers and associated Aventum Group companies comply with all relevant regulations and legislation applicable in the general insurance and reinsurance sector through focused monitoring work.
This role will suit an individual who is personable and meticulous, comfortable taking ownership and initiative when working independently and alongside the wider Business when needed.
The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of the FCA’s handbook, rules, and guidance applicable to (re)insurance, with particular experience of working in a Lloyds broker.
Roles & Responsibilities
Keeping up-to-date with regulatory developments, including FCA and other regulatory (such as data protection) issues and those on the horizon.
Assisting in the effective delivery of the firm’s annual compliance plan.
Proactively conduct monitoring activities in line with the firm’s annual compliance plan.
Assisting in the design and implementation of the firm’s risk management framework.
Supporting the Compliance Team in ensuring that the firm’s activities comply at all times with both its internal procedures and FCA requirements.
Ensuring the firm’s various compliance registers are maintained.
Assisting in the design, drafting, review and implementation of the firm’s compliance policy documents and procedures. Conduct suitable monitoring to ensure the processes are embedded within the business.
Supporting the effective delivery of the firm’s internal audit function.
Assisting in the resolution of complaints received.
Supporting in the collation of information for relevant compliance management information.
Support in the deliverance of ad hoc thematic monitoring reviews as undertaken by the Compliance Team.
Supporting the firm to ensure that adequate records are kept throughout the organisation to demonstrate compliance with FCA requirements and to facilitate regulatory reporting.
Ensuring that all staff are aware of, and comply with, the firm’s procedures and all relevant FCA requirements concerning selling practices.
Ensuring the firm’s ARs are adequately monitored for compliance.
At least 1-2 year’s relevant compliance experience within the (re)insurance and Lloyd’s market. Ideally having worked in a compliance role in a reinsurance or Lloyd’s Broker.
A strong understanding of the FCA’s and Lloyd’s rules and guidance particularly applicable to the (re)insurance sector.
A personable individual is key, willing to learn and comfortable working in a diverse, face paced environment.
High attention to detail.
Preferably educated to A-level standard or equivalent.
Good level of IT literacy particularly in Excel and Word.
Desirable: Insurance or compliance qualifications e.g. CII, ICA.
