Digital Product Development Manager - Aventum

Aventum is seeking a passionate Product Development Manager to develop innovative products as we seek to expand our portfolio to serve customers with more digital products and in more countries.

As Product Development Manager you will be responsible for working with divisional business teams and external partners to design products for digital deployment and support Aventum’s underwriting leaders in the management of our existing product suite

This key role will be highly visible to Aventum’s Leadership. You will need to work collaboratively with both internal and external teams. You will be executing a multi-country, multi-product roadmap, while diving deep to understand customer needs, market practices, and product financials to structure and negotiate partnerships that drive value to customers, partners, and Aventum.

We are seeking an experienced Product Development Manager who is passionate about digital solutions for customers to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems and works effectively with cross-functional internal and external teams.

Role Summary

Ownership of the implementation of the product development roadmap. You will be responsible for updating the existing products so they are digital native and steer the process of product development for new product lines, working with the Aventum businesses.

Manage the product development process across underwriting, pricing & actuarial, legal and compliance, operations, marketing & sales.

To manage the full product lifecycle, including regular product reviews and enhancements in order to maintain product market position, generate top line sales growth and maximize profitability.

Role Accountabilities

Be responsible for product lifecycle management and continuously improve our existing products to align with customer expectation. Ensure product development is consistent across the group and policy wordings are up to date and key benefits support the wordings.

Develop and deliver new easy to understand insurance products that are suitable for digitalisation and fit our target market and produce optimal customer outcomes.

Monitor market developments and evaluate upcoming customer trends and perform competitor benchmarking to ensure adequate position of products to understand the target market sectors, applications and competitors, and track market trends to ensure continued competitiveness of the product range.

Present new products to the market and internally to Aventum divisions as required

Provide the route to feedback current and future customer and application requirements (voice of the customer) to the relevant teams within the company.

Provide underwriter training on new products and manage product launches with the support from the Marketing team.

Education & Qualifications

ACII qualification desirable or working towards

Degree level or other equivalent qualification preferred

Competencies

Proven experience of working with/ within underwriting teams to design, develop and implement products

Experience of presenting new products and deliver supporting materials for external use

Good   understanding of wordings and clauses and a good understanding of legal and regulatory framework

Previous experience of working at a senior level within a commercial insurance environment

Excellent relationship management skills and experience of building successful long term relationships both internal and external

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Pragmatic decision maker with good analytical and numerical reasoning skills

Experience within a matrix management environment
