Role Summary
To be a key player in the consulting team as an expert in insurance pricing solutions. Includes building technical pricing models, reviewing outputs from the team, and helping with their developments.
This role would be working on both internal and external clients. This requires being able to innovate and work on novel pricing projects, communicate with various business stakeholders, as well as have a strong project management ability.
Role Responsibilities
Be a senior actuary providing technical pricing expertise and delivering practical pricing solutions
Intellectually curious and flexible in devising strategies and tackle wide-ranging projects using at times novel techniques
Willing to experiment with new ways to solve known problems, thereby pushing the boundaries and knowledge of the team
Be able to simplify complex solutions and communicate clearly to stakeholders
Input into and share responsibilities in internal portfolio reviews for each line of business, integrating pricing work and its impact into Loss Picks
Help train and develop junior members of the team in actuarial judgments and techniques to ensure the quality of output is of Mulberry standard
Contribute to strategies, define best pricing practices for clients, seek out new actuarial and/ or data science solutions, and improve team efficiency
Ensure timely and robust communications with clients
Role Requirements
5+ years of London Market pricing expertise (or equivalent)
Advanced knowledge in pricing tools and concepts
Able to work under own initiative and show flexibility to meet business needs
Be able to learn and adapt quickly on the job
Good communication and collaboration skills
Ability to prioritise own work and meet tight deadlines
Skills & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of VBA a plus
Good level in one of R, Python, or Julia
Proficient in SQL, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake
Any other software development or MI skills are advantageous (e.g. Azure functions, PowerBI, etc.)
