Sunday Times: Best Places to Work 2026 - Building a Place People Want to Be Part Of

You can learn a lot about a business by listening to the people inside it. At Aventum Group, that may come from the conversations around the Bearista after a big win or when someone backs an idea, takes ownership and turns it into something bigger than anyone expected.

That is the part of workplace culture you cannot manufacture, and it is why being recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 means so much to us.

This year, our fourth consecutive year on the list, Aventum Group features on the Big Organisations list, recognised alongside some of the UK’s most respected employers for creating an environment where people feel empowered, supported and genuinely excited about the work they do.

Zoe Thomas, Editor of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work, commented, “Our winning employers span sizes and sectors, from tiny charities to utility giants and everywhere in between. The thread joining them together is the belief that a happy workforce is a stepping stone to better performance, faster growth and bigger profits.”

The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list is based on 26 questions from WorkL’s employee survey, designed to measure overall workplace experience. The nationwide survey, run in partnership with WorkL, measures organisations across areas including wellbeing, recognition, empowerment, job satisfaction and pride.

But beyond the scores and rankings, what matters most is something simpler: our people believe in what we are building.

Ambition at the Centre of Our Culture

Over the past few years, the Group has experienced significant growth across various markets, products, and regions. Throughout this journey, our focus has remained on what truly drives meaningful progress: our people. These are the individuals who challenge conventional thinking, take ownership of outcomes, and possess the ambition to shape the future instead of waiting for others to take the lead.

That mindset sits at the centre of our ambition to become the world’s most inspiring insurance group by delivering the unexpected and creating meaningful impact. It is reflected in the way we work, the opportunities we create and the culture we continue to build together.

At Aventum, development is open to everyone. Responsibility is given early, and ideas can be implemented quickly. Team members are trusted to make decisions and encouraged to question traditional practices.

That commitment has continued to evolve through new learning platforms, expanded talent programmes, increased coaching and mentoring support, early careers investment and a stronger focus on giving people the tools and freedom to grow in ways that work for them. But culture is never just about programmes or policies.

Culture You Can Feel

A real cultural identity is something you feel the moment you walk through the door. We are talking about the energy of motivated teams working together towards a common goal, the confidence people have to voice their opinions and the way everyone backs each other - all with the belief that your contributions can truly make a difference.

For an employee-owned business like Aventum, that matters even more. Success is something we build together and something everyone shares in. Of course, recognition like this is worth celebrating. But what makes it truly meaningful are the thousands of moments behind it and the people who continue to raise the bar, challenge expectations and make Aventum what it is every day.
