Why Aventum is a Best Workplace in Financial Services and Insurance

When Aventum Group was named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Finance and Insurance by Great Place to Work, it provided us with a chance to pause and reflect on the culture we have been building together and the values that underpin it. Awards are one thing, but living a culture every day is another.

Recognition Shaped by People

Unlike many accolades, this recognition is not about what leaders say from the top. Instead, it focuses on employee experience.

Great Place to Work surveyed employees across the industry about work-life balance, fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. They then analysed how consistent those experiences are across every level of an organisation.

The result? A clear picture of which companies are creating workplaces where people truly thrive.

74% of employees surveyed for the UK’s Best Workplaces for Finance Services and Insurance said, ‘This is a fun place to work’ - compared to 57% at a typical company in the sector. To us, that shows the difference culture can make and reflects the culture we have been working hard to build.

How Aventum Made the List

Over the past 12 months, we have launched new values that define who we are and how we work.

More than static statements, our values show up in the way our colleagues collaborate across the business, in the courage people show when trying new things and in the curiosity that drives us to explore better ways of working. Our values influence how we grow, how we treat each other and how we show up for our clients.

A Culture You Can Feel

Ask people what it is like to work at Aventum and the answers often revolve around a sense of belonging, trust and opportunity. You hear about people feeling stretched in the right ways, supported when it matters and proud to be part of something bigger than themselves. Chief People Officer, Neil Milner, said:

“Our culture comes to life when colleagues feel they can be themselves, take risks and know they’ll be backed by their team. That’s what people tell us time and again, and it’s what makes this recognition so meaningful.”

That is the heartbeat of our culture - a workplace where people can thrive as themselves, while being part of a team that is going somewhere together. Culture is something you live; it is the everyday choices, the way people treat each other and the values that guide you when nobody is watching.

Our culture will always be a work in progress, but it is one we are proud to keep building together.
